Hello!
Thanks for popping in, hope your Easter weekend has started well. I took Tillypops to church! Well sort of, it was an outdoors service today, so I thought why not, and she was very good, except when she had a pee in one of the flower beds right in front of the reverends wife! #badassjackrussell.
Now if you remember, I said I would be giving away this weeks FIF project, so here is the project...
I actually really like this very much, might make a nice class card.
I started with a couple of white diecuts, and a piece of card that was sprayed with silver aquatint around the edges, that piece was left over from a aquatint class about 3 years ago.
I embossed the mannequin with my Mountain Ash stencil then brushed it lightly with a black ink to pick up the texture.
The aperture of the large cog was a good size to stamp one of the floral round stamps. and a few cogs stamped for extra interest.
See the shimmer in the sprayed frame?
Ok so you have one more chance to win the card, all you have to do is leave me a nice comment, and if you are a follower then you get an extra entry into the draw. I'll count up everyone's comments from the week and announce the winner over the weekend some time.
Ok, I have laundry to do now-I'm all rock and roll you know!

What a lovely and innovative use of the flower fresh cut dies. YOu have inspired me to try them as part of the background for die cuts.
ReplyDeleteLove this card, would definitately be a great class project. Has also given me inspiration for another use of the dies. Many thanks Maria. Julie xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Maria. Wishing you a very happy Easter to you all. I should be at church but have friends coming from London. Feels strange not going on Good Friday. It’s a beautiful day so hope you will get to enjoy it when you have done the washing. Love xxxxx
ReplyDeletePs I have just ordered one of the dies so looking forward to receiving it soon. Xx Must try to get to one of your classes. We have a couple of church halls in whitefield which would be a good place to use. Near the motorway and the metro. There seems to be quite a few of us in Manchester and Bolton Xx
ReplyDeleteGreat card Maria. The embossing looks fab on the mannequin.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, Maria, and very much easier than that challenge you set me last week. I am on the fourth version as we speak. I am adding gel pens to fussy cutting as my pet hates. They just don't like me and stutter and splodge. However, I am not giving in. Have a good Easter. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant use of elements that I would never have thought of putting togethrr Maria. "You are nearer Gods' heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth" so that's where I have been. Enjoy your Easter xxoo
ReplyDeleteanother great card, I need to use my stencils more to emboss with. Hopefully you got your laundry done & dry as its been a beautiful day. Took the girls to a Chibi art class at the Valley, sat & had a picnic & it was really warm, lets hope it lasts. Have a good weekend break
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Maria. Well another beautiful card today and I really love the composition. It is a really good use of all the elements. Definitely my style having little colour.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab Easter and get lots of chocolate. I am so looking forward to eating chocolate again (I gave it up for Lent!) Barbara xx
Glad Tilly was well behaved. I would hate to take our Julie's dog it would be a nightmare. Lovely project. Enjoy your Easter break. x
ReplyDeleteWish I could have a go at this grieving for my loss of crafting at the moment. Can do a little but suffer after. However loved this project and think it would be a fab future project, for when my arm is better. Positive thinking.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful Maria.
ReplyDeleteWe are having a Gota Fria here in Spain. That means constant rain and wind, got soaked to the skin, literally, last night taking my dog out for a pee!!!!
